Sites on the Bombing of Japan, 1945

Since so many expressed interest, here are a few interesting sites to help you learn more about the dropping of the atomic bombs at the end of World War II.

http://www.hiroshima-cdas.or.jp/HICARE/en/12/index.html: Very scientific, focused on the aftermath and long-lasting effects of radiation.

http://www.atomicarchive.com/index.shtml: Lots of media and historical documents related to the development of the bomb, as well as the event itself and the aftermath.

http://www.mbe.doe.gov/me70/manhattan/hiroshima.htm: Very cool interactive site with lots of info about how the bomb was made and tested.

Have a great week without required homework! But remember your options for extra/make up credit:
1. Make revisions to FHP writing pieces: historical or personal narrative
2. READ and write additional responses to your reading. You can include vocabulary as well. Remember you will need to do DOUBLE the amount to receive the same credit you could have earned by doing it on time. (EX: 4 hours will be needed to equal the points you would have gotten for doing the 2 hours on time --10. The response and amount of pages should reflect MORE reading!)
